Redux ROT Calculator — Privacy & Data Handling
Redux is an independent project, not affiliated with any employer. The ROT Calculator exists to help enterprises understand their data waste — and to build the ROT Impact Benchmark, a quarterly open report. These are our binding commitments to every user:
We do not send marketing emails, newsletters, drip campaigns, or any unsolicited communication. We do not operate a calendar booking, a phone line, or a contact form. If you have a question, email privacy@rotimpact.com — that's the only contact channel by design.
While you fill in the calculator, your inputs are saved only in your browser's local storage so you don't lose progress — nothing is sent to us until you submit. That saved state auto-expires after 72 hours, and the Start Over button erases it immediately. Want to keep a configuration longer? Use Export Config to download it as a file you own, and Import Config to load it back any time.
Your IP address and user-agent string are passed through SHA-256 with a server-side pepper before storage. We never store them in plain text. The hashes are used solely for rate-limiting and abuse prevention.
Any personally identifiable information (email, company name, job title) is automatically nullified 365 days after submission — both in our database and in linked submission wizard snapshots. The anonymized aggregate data (industry, size range, ROT percentage) is kept indefinitely for the ROT Impact Benchmark.
When you submit your data, you receive a cryptographic forget token. Send a POST request to /api/leads/{id}/forget with {"forgetToken":"..."} in the JSON body, and your record — including all linked submission wizard snapshots — is permanently deleted from both our database and the Notion mirror. No questions asked, no cooling-off period. Tokens expire 365 days after issuance; if you need deletion of an older record, contact privacy@rotimpact.com.
You can export everything we hold about you at any time by sending a POST request to /api/leads/{id}/export with {"forgetToken":"..."} in the JSON body. The response is a complete JSON dump of your record. Tokens expire 365 days after issuance; if you need access to an older record, contact privacy@rotimpact.com.
We use Google Analytics 4 in cookieless mode (Consent Mode v2 with all storage denied). No tracking cookies (_ga, _gid, or any other) are ever set. No cross-site identifiers are created. IP addresses are anonymized before processing. We receive only aggregate, non-identifiable pageview counts — enough to understand which pages are useful, nothing more. Because no personal data is collected or stored client-side, no prior cookie consent is legally required.
Directional estimates only. All figures produced by the Redux ROT Calculator — including dollar exposures, operational drag scores, and compliance risk ratings — are directional estimates generated from your inputs and published industry benchmarks (see Methodology v1.3.1). They are intended for planning and awareness purposes only.
Not professional advice. Nothing on this site constitutes financial, legal, tax, compliance, or IT consulting advice. You should validate all outputs against your own environment and consult qualified professionals before making decisions based on these estimates.
No warranty. The tool is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose.
Privacy-first by design. We never email you, never set tracking cookies, and auto-purge PII after 12 months. Full details are in the Data Commitments section above.
